Invisalign vs Braces
Altitude Dental Specializes in Clear Aligners
Invisalign dentists use custom made clear aligners for teeth straightening. This type of aligner is designed to be less visible, less intrusive and more comfortable. Altitude Dental in Coquitlam specializes in Invisalign™.
Patients who need teeth straightening work done often delay as much as possible because they don’t like the look and feel of braces on their teeth. However, Invisalign clear aligners are much less noticeable and much more comfortable, and usually more effective (and therefore used for a shorter time frame) than dental braces. The Invisalign™ approach is better than invisible dental braces because it is focused on meeting each of those three goals – visibility (or rather invisibility), comfort and timing.
The process is relatively simple – you visit the dental clinic monthly for progress checks. Based on the correction process, the aligners are replaced with another custom aligner every couple of weeks (at each progress check you receive your aligner and the next set).
Because the aligners are removable, it is easier for you to eat and brush and floss to maintain good oral health. But you also need to make sure that you keep the aligners in your mouth for the recommended time to make progress quickly - and you need to visit your dentist regularly and as scheduled. Typically, average treatment time is about one year.
Invisalign™ vs Braces
One of the most common questions asked is, “Are Invisalign™ clear aligners as effective as invisible dental braces or metal braces?” And the answer is “Yes.” Invisalign™ works very effectively for crowding, straightening, spacing , under bite, over bite, deep bite, and/or open bite issues.
Altitude Dental’s Dr. Vaida has been working successfully with Invisalign™ clear aligners for many years (and has many happy and smiling patients with straight teeth!) and has the experience and the training to know how to provide you with the best teeth straightening solution for your specific needs.
